Pagent Girl

So John said I should see what she looks like with mascara....I thought...hummm lets do all her makeup :) and then I started to take pictures, she looks like such a big girl to me, NOT 2 1/2. Payten loved getting her makeup done, but not so much all the pictures, a couple of these you can almost see that teenage eye roll coming!!!

I want her eye lashes! They remind me of her aunt Juli and Kristen's eye lashes that are ALWAYS sooo dang gorgeous! (yes there's a huge hint of jealousy!)

LONGEST 6 years of our lives!

Hahahaha totally kidding! Today is our 6th anniversary and I can't believe it. We had a great date last night, we went to see Batman which was really good, DARK but good! We had dinner at Uva which was so yummy and relaxing. I couldn't be more happy and in love with my husband, kids and family! now that's not to say that they still don't drive me completely insane sometimes :) haha but the rest of the time more then makes up for it. Happy Anniversary John, love ya!

This story must be told!

I told Mardel that she needed to start a blog of all the funny things she does (unintentionally) :) however since she doesn't have one, and I feel that our day yesterday deserves a post, here goes!

Humm how to begin...haha j/k it's really not that big of a deal, I told Tegan, Tristan and Kirra I'd take them to go hiking Thursday morning, I asked Mardel if she'd like to go and she said the Kapele boys were coming in so we thought we'd all go. The whole time was really fun, climbing trees, snacks, catching lizards, cow patties and poison oak. Of course there are lizards everywhere so the boys got to chase and catch them the whole time (which was kind of perfect because Payten takes a little longer then all the older cousins).
There were many learning experiences on this trip as well, we learned what happens if you step on a lizard without killing it (the eyes pop out....seriously like in a cartoon, yes i know it was gross, sad and yet amazing too, you wouldn't think that would really happen) - Lesson taught by Jordan. Then what happens if you try then to kill that lizard ( to put out of misery) with deep tread shoes (try getting all that out of the shoe) Lesson taught by Mardel. So then we break out the snacks, let the tree climbing begin and we got to relax for a while, Also Carter took up a huge interest in cow patties! haha I guess what little boy wouldn't, i must have looked over 5 times to see him holding a pie 1/2 the size of him when we weren't watching! hahaha On the way down Mardel notices poison oak, we make sure to tell everyone not to touch it and show them what it looks like. Within about 30 seconds Carter (I think he's the quiet sneaky type, so dang funny!) goes over to a bush and grabs the leaves and starts going to town on the bush, as Mardel and I scream NOOOOO (it's all happening in slow motion too) OK not really. You can see his face after and know that in his head he's thinking, HA I showed you, look nothing happened, I'm SUPER MAN! hahaha Kristen will have to comment on this post in a few days to give us an update on if he gets anything from it, hopefully not! ANYWAYS, about a minute after that Tegan is running through a hill of it and I guess the older girls said the boys all slid down a hill with it on the hill.??? Wait you mean boys don't listen to our every word? that's odd!

OK so all this poison oak brings us really to the funny part! We get back to Mardel's for a swim party the rest of the day but first thing she does is strip the boys, takes all the clothes and shoes to wash them. She then got them all out on the lawn with "soap" and a hose. Everyone is sudsed (is that a word?) up and being hosed off. She even goes the extra mile to get out Carter's car seat, pulls off the cover and "soaps" it up as well (the "" will make sense in a little bit) hehe. OK so everyone is clean, on with the swimming, of course once Riley passes out the Girls and I HAVE to go to Target to get junk food to eat, heaven forbid we eat a salad or something like that. Anyways we are having lots of fun, they swim for hours and hours. Kelly shows up to pick up her kids. Mardel is telling this story to Kelly (so sorry Kelly you know this whole story). Then Kirra asks Mardel, but why did you use conditioner??? we were dying of laughter it was soooo funny, Kirra goes and checks the bottle which IS conditioner, not an ounce of soap in it. - Lesson taught by Mardel and Kirra! haha I really really hope they don't all get it, hopefully the chlorine killed it or something. It would be really bad if the Kapeles were all in Disney land with poison oak!

ok WOW long post ( I think I just ate a whole box of Nilla Wafers while writing it, that's embarrassing, hummmm must go jogging tonight now, dang) haha sorry guys, I just had a lot of fun and laughed quite a bit. This group of kids is VERY entertaining.
Here are a couple of the lizards they caught, Jordan was having a lot of fun catching them, well really they all were but Jordan was playing with them the whole time everyone else was in the trees and stuff. I couldn't believe he got the smaller one just to sit on the bigger ones back and neither really cared, this is all on his chest. They just sat there! very cool!

Pack rat Payten

Payten's current hobby is collections. She spends HOURS collecting random things, ex - seeds from flowers on the ground outside! I used to be nervous when I realized how quiet she was but lately she gets really quiet and just goes for the zip lock baggies. I'm constantly calling out to her "only two bags" and she sadly replies "ohhhh kayyyy." Witch a smile I then listen to her putting back the 100+ baggies, one at a time, back in their box. After the clean up she sprints to whatever pile she has decided to collect into a bag and very carefully fills the bag. Here are just a few examples below! these baggies are all over the house and she knows exactly whats in each one and has to bring them all everywhere. she gets so excited to show whoever we're on the way to see, she just knows they HAVE to love her collections as much as she does. Then just when you think she's forgotten about one, and that you can finally get rid of its contents, she goes looking for it and you better know where it is! (and that BETTER NOT be the trash) haha

Payten also LOVES working on things with Dad, she loves fixing her bike and holding the flash light for him when he's working on the car. Really anything that involves tools and flashlights. The funny thing is i remember loving the same thing. I remember watching my dad on boat engines, or cars, he'd always have his oldies but goodies music on, which is probably why i love that music too now. But little girls and there Dads....so dang cute. Daddies little girls will always look up to their dads and KNOW that they are the coolest dads in the world and we will always be so proud of our dads! Yes that means my Dad too. I MISS YOU!

The soundrack of my summer

I LOVE CONCERTS! I went to this concert with Stephanie, her sister in law and a couple of her friends. We had so much fun!!! I think everyone knows how much I love Good Charlotte but i was so excited for the other bands as well, they were all so good and great performers, bouncing around the stage, up on speakers, swinging around guitars...ahhhh pure energy rush! :) We were all a bunch of giddy school girls the whole time however I will say that Stephanie and I probably looked more like we were on speed or something. Like she said on her blog, the 3 younger girls who should have been the embarrassing, screaming girls, were so much more mature then us! haha But hey you only live once right? so might as well go crazy doing it!!!!

Let the games begin!

Riley is SO good at grabbing Paytens hair whenever she can. Payten is stuck screaming for one of us. It totally reminds me of my sister and I. I remember quite vividly hair pulling fights, kicking fights on our stairs, even one that ended with my foot through a wall...hehe don't know my own strength. The death stares in school when she would walk by wearing my brand new shirt without asking....ahhhhh sisters, cant live without them but Deffinately can't live with them! haha

BBQ Chicken Pizza

YUMMMM Payten loves helping to make pizza and this is packed full of veges and she actually downs them all so I thought I'd post it. It is so easy, healthy, cheap, and quick. PERFECT!
Pizza Dough (I get the whole wheat from Trader Joes for $1)
BBQ Sauce (like 1/2 a bottle +/- what you prefer)
Mozzarella Cheese
Yellow squash (sliced, green is good too but the yellow looks like cheese so they have no idea! sneaky!!!)
Green Peppers (I normally don't like these but paired with pineapple i love them, like in shishkabobs or Waikiki meatballs)( Payten was like mom i LIKE these green things) WHAT?
Red onion sliced
Mushrooms sliced (Payten loved them, i couldn't believe it)
Pineapple chunks
Chicken (i get the pre cooked strips and cut them up)
Cilantro
Variations: tonight i had ham like sandwich meat so i cut that up and put it on too, SO good! also I've put all kinds of veges on it. it sounds crazy but broccoli actually way good it kind of soaks up the BBQ sauce, any summer squashes, different peppers. get crazy with whatever you like, I'm pleasantly surprised every time. If your not near a trader joes a lot of pizza places sell the dough like moose's tooth in AK. anyways enjoy :)

Mornings like this

I love mornings like these. I stayed up scrapbooking way to late then was way to tired to sleep so i got about 3-4 hours sleep maybe. I was not looking forward to being exhausted however I'm surprisingly energized and the girls have been SO GOOD! both just happy and playing happily with their toys. and charming me every time i turn around. ahhh it's funny how you can be so stressed and so frustrated with your kids, then they turn around and give you the most genuine happy smile or say the cutest thing that just melts your heart and in that second your not sure how you could ever be irritated with them. Now at the risk of sounding too sappy they usually turn right back around and are driving you crazy within minutes hahaha but anyways. it's just been a great morning and I've had fun goofing off with the girls, i love them!
Riley figured out how to bounce in this and LOVES it, goes crazy laughing with it, too cute.
Payten got a Shuka sweatshirt and she is sooooo excited because she sees him at "the lion king," aka discovery kingdom, all the time. She was also given a cute purse that is already filled with goodies from her room and she caries it around the house everywhere. THANKS TRACY that was so sweet of you, she really loves them!!!
ahhhhh :) she makes me melt
